Quilt-In 2013
 Saturday 5th October

Guest Speaker:
 Leesa Chandler

We felt it was a successful day, so it was delightful to receive a Thank You email ...

Just a quick message to say we all had a lovely day today and THANKS to you and the girls for hosting such a fun day
Leesa was a wonderful speaker
Loved Show & Tell
Just loved the day - great slices & hospitality

People came from Ballarat and Corowa NSW, Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula, Bendigo, Essendon, Melton, Rochester, Sunbury, Werribee and Wyndham ... to name just a few ... to join our members and share our special day

Thank you to ...

Our speaker, Leesa Chandler, who told us about the ups and downs of designing fabric and how this has changed her life. Leesa showed us a number of the quilts and items she makes to showcase beautiful fabrics. She generously donated one of these quilts for us to use to raise funds as part of the work we do for charity - thank you Leesa!
She also spent some time answering questions and was busy on her Stall most of the day.

Our Shops with such enticing goodies to tempt our purse strings - Chandler's Cottage, Beaumaris; The Patchwork Teahouse, Warburton; Can Do Books, Hawthorn; Dot & Lyn's Bits & Bobs, Bacchus Marsh.

 Sunday 6th October

'A Russian Tote'

Red bag, front & back, and 2 of the fabrics for Purple Bag

We all rolled in promptly at 9.30 am (minus an hour of sleep as it was changeover day to Daylight Savings)

We ALL were happy to use Leesa's generous Kits. It seems we are RED girls at heart as only 2 chose the purple colourway, and 1 rebel chose a completely different fabric - go Yvonne!

By lunchtime the bag construction was under control.

Leesa encouraged and cajoled some of us to the optional 3D flowers for the front flap.
Enticing as they were, a few resistant souls simply wanted the joy of completing the bag!

THANK YOU Leesa

Great class!

You are a generous teacher

A big THANK YOU to our generous Sponsors:

Thank you to Workers & Helpers

You set up the Hall on Friday, you donated 2" strips of fabric and magazines, you made delicious slices and yummy soup, you helped in the Kitchen, you manned the Entry table, you sold raffle tickets and 'Guess the Number of Strips' numbers, you prepared Lucky Dip bags, you sold Mug of Soup coupons,

We enjoyed Leesa - and Leesa enjoyed us

... you held up quilts for Show & Tell

and you packed up and cleaned up when the party was over.

A special vote of thanks to our menfolk who came along to help with handling the heavy trestles & big tables.

We might have had sore feet Saturday night, but knowing it had been a successful day made it worthwhile.
